| The vintage dinette table is surrounded by rattan chairs
of a later date. Though from different decorative periods, the use of a common material
unites the group. A glowing lantern of reinforced paper hangs above. The only pattern
in the hideaway is a printed fabric from the 1950s. It is a giddy riot of stylized
plumeria blooms in orange and white on a chocolate ground. This nearly indestructible
fabric covers the draperies, chaise, occasional chairs and the dining area seat pads.
Using the obligatory neutrals of white, cream, beige, and tan everywhere else, this is the
garish garnish to our tropical punch! |
